Heart Strings to Premiere at Atlantic Theater Company

Heart Strings by Lee Cataluna was one of the four plays developed as part of the 14th Annual PLAYGround Festival of Fresh Works. The play will receive its production premiere at Atlantic Theater Company in October 2022.

“Communication junior and Festival Producer Arella Flur said she is excited that PCP looks for original theatre made for young audiences.

“A lot of what you will see at children’s theaters or youth theaters around the country are often based off of books or movies that already have a brand name to them,” Flur said. “We really care about celebrating new voices, diverse voices and bringing these original ideas to the stage.”

PCP focuses on plays that empower youth by centering the young person as the initiator of change, Flur said.”

Students work to help their local communities impacted by COVID-19

She became involved in MusicGrams, an online campaign that allows people to send free music video requests to others. The hope, she said, is that customers make a donation to the Musicians Foundation CV19 Emergency Relief Aid Grant Program, which supports all the professional musicians who are currently out of work.”
